Boo! 👻 Could these boo basket prints from @threadmama_story be any cuter?! There’s just something about a little surprise treat that can really make my day brighter..anyone else? 🥰

This year especially we need little day brighteners every once in awhile! Or as @hellomissromeo would say..a little glimmer! ✨

Classroom procedures are taking a liiiiittle bit longer to master this year than years past. 😳

Right now we are working towards mastering some specific routines with our little “Boo” board! 👻

I combined @headoverheelsforteaching and @happilyeverelementary ideas to make this quick little Halloween inspired routines check! Each time I see them mastering these routines, we will take one off.

If we get each little boo off, we will have a little classroom celebration….that has yet to be determined! 👻

We are problem solvers 🧡

…our math board is manifesting my 4th graders to not only be problem solvers in math + STEM, but hopefully in other areas as well 🧡We aren’t quite there yet…but I have hopes we will get there! 😉

We just started our first math unit of place value + it’s always one of my favorite units to teach! Swipe to see a few simple + engaging activities we’ve done!

✨ @99mathgame - this fast paced game allows students to practice the skill while also competing against others + themselves!

✨ Beat the Teacher activity - this is always a favorite! Students try to beat me in making the biggest/smallest number out of numbers rolled on the dice. Once they write the number in it’s place they cannot move it. Then we have discussions around the place values, how we could have made it bigger/smaller, changed it, etc.

✨ Notecards + paper clips - each math partner group numbered notecards 1-9 and received 2 paper clips for commas. I would show them a number in word form + they would build it with their notecards. Or they would build their own number & practice saying the large numbers. They also built numbers + then compared to another group. Hands on + good practice!
